WORKERS’ COMPENSATION THAT SAVES
As a regional leader in workers' compensation, DTU delivers more than a policy. DTU's focus on the sound business principles of underwriting and cost containment has been its formula for success. The result: a superior workers' compensation program that can reduce costs and lost productivity while providing the added benefit of company ownership through profit sharing.
COMPREHENSIVE SERVICES, WORKING TOGETHER
DTU manages the full spectrum of compensable loss, achieving a balance between minimizing costs and settling claims fairly. The successful implementation of this balance can mitigate future losses, resulting in the best possible outcome for the insured customer.
Drawing from a complete portfolio of cost containment services, DTU can manage every aspect of a complex workers’ compensation claim—from pre-loss engineering to early intervention, appropriate direction of medical care and facilitation of productive recovery options.
REALIZING THE BENEFITS OF RECIPROCAL INSURANCE
The characteristics and advantages of reciprocal insurance include:
POLICYHOLDERS ARE THE OWNERS.
DTU becomes your company. As the company grows, so does your ownership in it.
SURPLUS SAVINGS ACCOUNTS.
The money you invest doesn’t just pay the cost of coverage. Initial surplus contributions and savings from profits accumulate in an individual interest-bearing SSA (Surplus Savings Account) – money that helps grow the company and improve products and services.
YOUR INVESTMENT GROWS AS WE DO.
Your SSA fund is held in your name. Profit sharing is credited to your SSA balance based on numerous factors including: overall performance of the reciprocal, your premium size, loss experience and tenure. In addition, income earned on DTU’s investments is passed on to subscribers based on the size of their SSAs and tenure with DTU.
As the SSAs grow they can become a source of cash distributions, lowering your cost of insurance. Earnings may also be reinvested in the reciprocal in order to further benefit from the company’s performance.
UNDERSTANDING RECIPROCAL INSURANCE
There is little to distinguish one company’s Workers’ Compensation policy from another, as the insurance products are virtually identical. What sets DTU apart is the value it imparts, not only in the administration of your Workers’ Compensation program, but also in the benefit of the reciprocal arrangement. Our customers have the opportunity to partner with the insurance company—making them eligible for profit sharing.
